I had four or six of these and they were among the first pieces that I bought way back when. I sold them awhile ago. You just run out of room. And…you come across pieces that you prefer. Funny though….the pieces I seem to prefer just keep going up in cost!!!!! Luckily I came across the photos recently. These were small – cocktails or sherry I imagine, if I remember correctly. I’ve seen this pattern with the name “Jabot”, but I have seen it frequently referred to as DE (deep etch) 107. I think this line was produced in the first decade of the twentieth century, but I wouldn’t bet a quarter on it.
Glass companies changed owners and were bought out over time. Fry had a relationship (too long to write about here) with Beaver Valley Glass. Beaver Valley produced the most beautiful Geisha pattern. I haven’t seen it often. I was outbid on a mug at $55.00 or so. Too rich for my blood. But I’d love to own a piece. I’ve only seen this pattern on the mug. It would be gorgeous on stems.
I bid on a pitcher with DE 107 but the seller cancelled the sale because there were noticeable scratches and I didn’t take it. I have to admit to being a wee bit sorry that I sold these as I like having the older pieces, but they were too small unless you use the teensy glasses, and I don’t.
