This little vase has a crimped rim. You can’t really get the feel for the colour, through this photo, but it is opalescent. This is how someone has defined this glass on Wikipedia – “The term opalescent glass is commonly used to describe glass where more than one color is present, being fused during the manufacture.” These little pieces were made in the ’40s/’50s and are easy to find in a variety of colours – opalescent and in milk glass. You can also acquire many different items as well.
I like the blue the best. I have had a couple pieces of blue Hobnail – vases. Actually I’m kind of wondering where the others are. I have a feeling they are packed in boxes in the garage. The Youtube clip shows how opalescent glass is made.
