The colours just don’t show up in the photo. This is a very attractive piece. I would have called it a compote, although it is larger than my other compotes, until I saw the piece from Indiana Glass. “The Harvest Gold Carnival Wedding Bowl was first sold separately as a wedding or fruit bowl. It was later packaged with the matching candle holders and sold as a console set. The candleholders were never sold separately so they can be tough to find. The gold carnival wedding bowl is a large bowl measuring 8 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches acrossed the scalloped top. It was only made in gold carnival glass. It was NOT made in blue or lime green carnival.”
I’m not sure if the name ‘wedding bowl’ implies that it was intended to be a boxed wedding gift, or if it’s simply just a name. I found it at a Value Village and ‘had’ to add it to my collection of marigold, amber pieces. But the size precludes adding too many – not enough space to store them.
Pretty to look at in the sun however.
