This pretty marigold piece has lots of neat detailing. There is the scalloped edge, the rayed interior, the floral design on the exterior, beads on the exterior and little feet that look like twigs.
Both Carnival Heaven and David Doty’s Carnival Glass sites show photos of a number of samples. Some of them are quite beautiful.
This little bowl is in great shape for having been made in the early years of the twentieth century.

Some time ago I bought, and subsequently sold, a Jeannette Glass Marigold Powder jar with a Poodle finial. I have kinda, maybe, perhaps, regretted the sale. I decided that instead, I had to have a jar with the scottie finial to match my Heisey terrier figurine. I’m not as fussy on the deer pieces. I’ve been looking for awhile. They are common online, but the shipping has always been too costly.
I found this piece in Pickering at the Antique Mart. I blinked at the price. It wasn’t particularly costly, but I fall into the trap of….I can get it cheaper online! Then I shook my head, said some words about my illogical state of mind and bought the thing!
This will be a keeper, for awhile at least. I have new shelving being installed in my home office tomorrow and I intend to display some of my favourite coloured pieces on my new shelves! Now I just have to decide about buying (and keeping) another poodle or the pink scottie!
