I know that someone should recognize this cut (although not I). This is a pretty glass. Likely a sherry or cordial. It is quite brilliant. I wish the photo did it justice. I am fairly confident that it is European. It has a mark, but it is very difficult to distinguish, even with my trusty magnifying glass.
This is when it is useful to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the shape of stem. Some stems are very distinct to some companies. But alas….I don’t have that particular encyclopedia in my genes!
I bought this at the usual place – at the Thrift Shop. It had been there for ages and I kept resisting it as there was only one, but thought I’d accept the challenge of trying to decipher the signature. Plus it only cost $2.00!
I’ve read that the quality of glass is not reflected in the tone of the ring. This ring sings. The tiniest touch on the rim makes the glass hum. Very nice piece of glass.
