Fostoria Champagnes in the Romance Etch

Fostoria RomanceIsn`t this pretty.  I bought 14 of these pieces and I hope to sell them to someone who is looking for a gorgeous wedding present.

I have never owned anything in the Romance etch before.  It is very much like Fostoria`s June etch.  I gather however  that Romance was never made in colors, while June was made in pink, blue, yellow and green I think (I used to own a blue bowl which I am now sorry that I sold!)  The blank used is different and if you look at the pattern closely enough you can see the differences between the ribbons.Fostoria Romance (2)

Romance was produced between 1942 – 1971, while June had earlier production years – 1928 – 1951.  

Very lovely and would great at the head table of a wedding!

 

 

Libbey Floral Tumblers

Libbey Floral Tumblers 3I picked four of these up awhile back at one of my favourite thrift shop haunts.  They are Libbey tumblers – likely juice glasses as they are pretty tiny.  They are marked with Libbey’s cursive “L’.  I am guessing that they were made in the 1970s.

The colours are fresh and the paint in intact.  Nice autumn colours and flowers – remind me of mums.

I asked one of my daughters if she wanted them.  She liked them, but wanted to know if they “came in blue”.  So now I am on the lookout for you know what!

Cut Butter Dish (2)The last (for now) of my cut pieces.  I rarely use butter – we are margarine people.  But at holiday time I like to have butter.  I used to have a very pretty pinwheel dish that had belonged to my mother-in-law, but I gave it to my son.  He has an appreciation for fine glass and vintage ‘stuff’, although I seem to acquire “manly” things for him – clocks, radios, cameras.

I cannot remember where I acquired this piece, and I’m not even sure that the top and bottom are a match.  But…..I like them in any event.Cut Butter Dish
