Florida truly is a beautiful state. We traveled both coasts – Atlantic and Gulf – of the southwestern part of the state. Hot and beautiful. Gorgeous sunsets, flowers and bushes. Beautiful blues of the water and sky. Two weeks was a nice long break. But in the end, home is best!
We made lots of thrift shop stops and visited a number of antique stores. Since we were flying I was somewhat limited as to the items I could bring home. Nonetheless, a few treasures were transplanted!
These are likely the ‘crowning glory’. I bought five of these water goblets at a very nice shop called Pineapple Pattis near Fort Pierce, Florida. They also had the sherberts/champagnes, but I really only wanted the goblets. I honestly likely would have bought the others as well, if I had more room.
These are Fostoria’s etch #80, called Spartan, on stem #5097. The green is very pretty.
The Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum has posted a copy of the patent for this stem. It was filed by Frank D. Greenan, an assignor for Fostoria, in 1927.
Very pretty.
