Red Vase 1

UPDATE March 11, 2013 – Found a similar Green Vasevase in green today.  The swirling optic doesn’t have the same crisscross pattern.  Only twists one way.

Haven’t yet found the name.  I’m pretty sure that Ruby Red doesn’t apply.  Now I have a Christmas coloured pair.  I’ll keep looking for the name.

UPDATE – I was scrolling through replacements.com looking for some information.  I came across this exact vase!!!  Yippie!!!

Turns out that this is a piece of Anchor Hocking’s Royal Ruby line.  Replacements has this listed as 1938-.  This is a flower vase (no surprise) with a swirled interior.

Always great to ID something. _________________________________

Since Christmas I have been trying to clean house a bit.  I have been unloading items that we never use or of which we have excess.  This includes vases.  I took them to work and they were promptly claimed – that’s very pleasing that they now have good, new homes.

However…I picked this piece up over the holidays and certainly couldn’t part with it.  I don’t know if it is old….but it is gorgeous.  A beautiful rich ruby red.  The interesting part is that the optic is on the inside.  It looks like a diamond pattern in the photo , but it really is more of a spiral as you can see in the 2nd photo.  Red Vase 2The effect is interesting.  I think it is very attractive.  Right now I have it on a windowsill waiting for some sunshine to shine through it.
