My guy was at an auction a few weeks ago.  He picked up two of these vases.  They are very attractive and I am certain that there are collectors out there who focus on these vases.

They are pretty neat – the ripples are very obvious on the exterior and the interior is also textured.

I gather from David Doty’s website that this is a popular pattern and that there are  many variations.  It appears that this one is quite common.

It doesn’t have an Imperial mark, so I think it is older.  I gather, according to Mr. Doty that the later reproductions are marked.

My guy has a good eye!
